Background of Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and Science in Integrated Innovation (BAScii)

Chulalongkorn University, Thailand’s top and oldest university, has launched a new “International Academy for the Future” under a Faculty-level Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation, Chulalongkorn University (ScII). The School is now offering “Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and Science in Integrated Innovation (BAScii)”, a dream program for international students who want to ride on the global megatrends and the exponential growth of digital technologies. The program might be the first of its kind in Asia to provide a transdisciplinary platform for talented students, encompassing Engineering, Science, Entrepreneurship, Liberal Arts and Social Science. It aims to prepare elite international students with globally relevant experiences in the Asian context, and with the digital and social skills necessary for life-long learning. Chulalongkorn University views this project as part of its digital transformation, to create a cohesive digital ecosystem that will allow the university to address its vital roles in the future society.

The program is planned to be truly international as to recruit 70% of its faculty members from all over the world and aims to attract a diverse batch of international students, 30% from overseas, who want to become 21st century global citizens.

Call for Applications of Academic Affairs Officer

Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation would like to invite qualified individuals to apply for Academic Affairs Officer. This position is on a 2-year contract, with the possibility of renewal subjected upon excellent performance. Summary of Role:

Academic Affairs Officer will perform responsible and diversified academic affairs duties on curriculum/course planning to execution according to the university academic calendar including admission, exchange/internship program, international relations, and student related matters as assigned by the head of academic affairs. This position requires considerable judgment, initiative, inter-personal, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

1. Planning

Prioritize and plan the tasks as well as coordinate with others including associated department in planning to achieve the goal on time

2. Operation

  1. Study, collect, recheck, and analyze academic information and the related matters in order to set the plan, process, and regulations of academic affairs
  2. Implement a plan and process on academic affairs

3. Coordination

  1. Coordinate with others on the assignment to conform with the school’s total targets under the regulations and head’s supervision in order to achieve the goal in time limit
  2. Provide academic information and related matters including student affairs

4. Service

  1. Advice, clarify and answer basic problems related to academic affairs to others in order to enhance understanding and support the mission of the school
  2. Provide academic affairs information to serve school mission 3) Perform academic services to support school mission

5. Others as assigned by the head of academic affairs

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree strongly preferred, Minimum of Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 3 years progressively responsible related experience required, preferable in an Academic or Student affairs, student programming, and/or leadership programs in a higher education setting
  • Minimum score of TOEIC 850 or TOEFL iBT 80 or IELTS 6.5
  • Excellent English communication and comprehension skills
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Compensation Package

  • A successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract appointment, with base monthly salary within this range (THB 30,000–60,000), depending on previous experience. Renewal of contract will be contingent upon excellent performance.
